Summer travel is upon us, and so many of my clients are working with me on their European getaways for the upcoming season that I thought it would be good to update you on direct nonstop European destinations now available from Boston. As a working mom, I know that not having to deal with stopovers especially on a transatlantic flight is a blessing and luckily in the last few years we have had a lot of new additions to Logan airport to make that happen.
As a travel advisor based in Arlington, MA I have worked with countless families, couples, and solos on building out their European itinerary. Some of the most popular destinations I see people choosing these days are: Portugal, Spain, London, Paris, and Italy. However, we are lucky here in Boston to have a major airport hub that is expanding annually to offer more and more direct international flights.
Lets take a look where you can go today in Europe direct for your vacation:
Amsterdam (AMS) - Air France, Delta
Athens (ATH)- Delta
Azores (PDL)- Azores Airlines
Barcelona (BCN) - Iberia (Level)
Copenhagen (CPH)- SAS Airlines
Dublin (DUB) - Aer Lingus, Delta
Edinburgh (EDI) - Delta
Frankfurt (FRA) - Lufthansa
London (LHR) - British Airways, Delta, JetBlue, Virgin Atlantic, United
Madrid (MAD) - Iberia
Munich (MUC)- Lufthansa
Paris (CDG) - Air France, Delta
Reykjavik (KEF) - Icelandair, Play
Rome (FCO) - Alitalia
Shannon (SNN)- Aer Lingus
Zurich (ZRH)- Swiss Airlines
Though not usually considered Europe some other favorites include Istanbul with Turkish Airlines and Tel Aviv via El Al Airlines.
With the new modernization project scheduled at Logan Airport scheduled to open in 2023, we are bound to have even more direct flights connecting Boston to Europe. Already announced, JetBlue will be flying to Paris starting in the fall and they are also looking to expand service to Amsterdam. Low cost airlines are also entering Boston with the addition of Norse Atlantic coming fall of 2023 with flights to London.
As is we already have direct flights to major European destinations, and many of them like London, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, and Frankfurt also serve as major transit hubs. With the entry of even more airlines into the mix, flying from Boston to Europe is bound to become more convenient and with increased competition comes better pricing for all of us.
Of course getting a good flight is just part of your trip planning process, as you still need to figure out hotels, itinerary, cars, trains etc. Fear not though, planning your travel does not need to be a stressful and time consuming endeavor. Working with a local travel advisor can save you from the stress while also getting you better pricing.
